Presentatiom

The Confucius Classroom Koper of the University of Primorska (KUK UP) was established in November 2014. Its purpose is to spread knowledge about the Chinese language and culture among students, pupils, students, and the wider public through educational activities and cultural events. The main activities of KUK UP are courses, workshops, and summer schools for all generations. In these courses, participants develop intercultural awareness and communication skills, enabling them to communicate successfully in contacts with Chinese people in the educational field as well as in the economy. Through cultural and other events, we present the rich and diverse Chinese culture.

In addition to sinologists, Chinese teachers also conduct the teaching process at KUK UP, providing participants with authentic language and cultural contact and direct acquaintance with the Chinese cultural environment.

Summer School of Chinese Language and Culture

For the tenth consecutive year the Confucius Classroom Koper of the University of Primorska (KUK UP) is offering five days of intensive and in-depth exploration of China. This year, we invite elementary school students to the Confucius Classroom Koper during the first week of July, where the Summer School of Chinese Language and Culture will take place. Participants will have the opportunity to browse through a rich selection of books and textbooks or explore traditional Chinese games.

During the summer school, activities will be tailored to different age groups, with participants grouped based on their previous knowledge of Chinese. Children who have encountered Chinese language and culture in previous years will build upon their knowledge with new content. We also look forward to welcoming those who will be joining us for the first time this year in exploring Chinese culture and language. Chinese teachers ensure an authentic experience by introducing students to their culture, language, and customs in a unique way.
In addition to Chinese teachers, our sinologists and staff from the Confucius Classroom Koper of the University of Primorska will be taking care of the students.

Participants will receive:
10 hours of Chinese language learning,
8 hours of exploring Chinese culture through lectures on various topics.
8 hours of learning about Chinese culture through workshops for practical creation of traditional products
Introduction to Chinese culture through Chinese cartoons, movies, and books.
