The project integrated museum and academic work through collaboration between the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula (Croatia) and the University of Primorska in Koper (Slovenia). It presented the authentic and unique archaeological heritage of the Histri on the largest international tour to date, spanning four European countries: Italy, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia. Each exhibition was accompanied by a dedicated monograph. In total, there are four editions of the scholarly publication in five languages and two scripts (Italian and Croatian, Macedonian and English, Croatian and English), with the latest monograph, in Slovenian and English, also published as open access by University of Primorska Press (https://doi.org/10.26493/978-961-293-440-8).
In addition to popularising archaeology, the exhibition project engaged both professional and general audiences, as well as students of archaeology and related disciplines, thereby enhancing the international recognition and reputation of Istrian archaeological heritage.
