Published 28/03/2026
The webinar explored how urban heritage can contribute to environmental sustainability through nature-based solutions, using the example of Córdoba’s historic courtyards from the Islamic period.

Organised by Casa Árabe within the GreenHeritage project, together with our guests from the PAX association – Patios de la Axerquía, the session brought together international participants and featured inspiring presentations by architects Gaia Redaelli and Carlos Anaya. Under the theme “Urban Heritage and Nature-Based Solutions: the PAX Strategy in Córdoba,” the webinar explored how historic urban environments can actively contribute to environmental sustainability. The speakers presented innovative approaches that connect cultural heritage with nature-based solutions, offering valuable insights for sustainable urban development. The event also introduced the Green Heritage Community of Practice as an open international network, aimed at professionals interested in the intersection of heritage and sustainability. The UNESCO Chair for Interpretation and Education for Enhancing Integrated Heritage Approaches at the University of Primorska was represented by the chairholder, Prof. Irena Lazar.
