Descriprion:

The cross-border mythic park connects the Rodik village in Slovenia and the Mošćenička Draga region in Croatia creating a unique presentation of a mythical landscape in a European setting from the perspective of sustainable tourism. The idea of creating a mythical park in Rodik, conceived in the previous Living landscape project, was realized in the present project. The project’s main objective is to actively preserve and enhance the mythical landscape’s cultural heritage in the territory of Mošćenička Draga and Hrpelje-Kozina municipalities. The project is based on expert research; therefore, it has an educational dimension.

Two thematic heritage walking routes were arranged through mythical (caves, baba, lintver, witches and so on) and archeological points (Ajdovščina) in the vicinity of Rodik. In the mythical landscape, you will get to know the materialized folk oral tradition, by which people made sense of their place and role in the world. You can follow the marked trails yourself, with a map, app or guide. The project is non-invasive, without tables, the stone sculptures and markers were designed by students of stone design from Sežana Higher Technical School. In the interactive visitor center, you will get more information on the topic and will be encouraged to think about different views of the world: mythical, scientific, religious and artistic.

Various target groups benefit from the realization of the project: general public -tourists/visitors of different age, residents of Rodik, local and regional bodies, non-profit organizations and other institutions.
