The program began with the release of the Lipizzaner herd, followed by welcoming speeches and a presentation of the commission’s work. The main part of the official program was a discussion on intangible cultural heritage in Slovenia, with an emphasis on the importance of its inscription on the UNESCO list – as a recognition and at the same time an obligation to protect our rich heritage.
In the afternoon, participants enjoyed themed guided tours of Lipica and the surrounding UNESCO areas, as well as the workshop on Karst dry-stone construction. Visitors were also welcomed at the Škocjan Caves Park, where they had the opportunity to experience a unique natural heritage of global importance. The event brought together people, who co-shape and preserve UNESCO values in Slovenia – from cultural and natural heritage to education, science and sustainable development.
