UP awards the Faculty of Humanities at the 21st UP Academy Awards Ceremony

The University of Primorska celebrates its anniversary every year during the week around March 17. On this occasion, the UP Week is held every year, and within it, the Ceremonial Academy, at which the UP presents awards to all those who have contributed to the reputation, development and success of the university with their work. Thus, the Gold plaque awarded to a group of five colleagues from the FHŠ.

The UP Gold Plaque for 2023 has been awarded to a group colleagues from the Faculty of Humanities for facilitating the establishment and acquisition of the first UNESCO Chair in the Humanities in Slovenia and the first at the university. In August 2021, the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris approved the establishment of a new UNESCO Chair in Interpretation and Education for the Promotion of Integrated Approaches to Heritage at UP FHŠ. It is only the fourth Chair in Slovenia. Prof. Dr. Irena Lazar, Assist. Prof. Dr. Neža Čebron Lipovec, Assist. Prof. Dr. Zrinka Mileusnić, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katja Hrobat Virloget and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alenka Tomaž have made the establishment and acquisition possible through their long-standing research and teaching work in the field of heritage.
