Wazo Coop (Spain), a non-profit social cooperative specializing in the protection and valorization of cultural and natural heritage, community-driven initiatives, and youth engagement, has joined the Green Heritage project as a new partner. As part of this collaboration, representatives of Wazo Coop paid a study visit to the Archaeological Site San Simon in Izola, which serves as one of the Heritage Living Labs of the UNESCO Chair at UP FHŠ.

The representatives of Wazo Coop expressed their gratitude to the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Primorska, and especially to Prof. Irena Lazar, Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair at UP FHŠ, for the warm welcome, the sharing of knowledge, and the guided tour of this vivid example of how heritage can connect communities with their natural environment in a sustainable way. The park is truly a place where history, landscape, and sustainability are intricately intertwined.

Furthermore, as the aim of the Green Heritage project is to integrate cultural heritage in archaeological parks with educating younger generations about sustainability, Wazo Coop hopes that, with the help of these new insights and newly established connections, the joint work on the Green Heritage project will be further strengthened.
